Invisalign Aligners Are Smooth and Comfortable
Invisalign Clear Braces in Salem, OR
Straight, white teeth look beautiful and make a great impression on everyone you meet. But did you know that a properly aligned smile may also improve your oral health? Straight teeth are easier to keep clean, respond better to restorations like dental crowns and veneers, and promote healthy jaw joint function.
Adult Orthodontic Options
Lifestyles today are not always conducive to bracket-and-wire orthodontics, especially for busy professionals and individuals with active social lives, which is why we offer Invisalign clear braces in our Salem, OR dental office.
Invisalign is a nearly invisible alternative that opens the door to orthodontics for patients who would have otherwise avoided braces.
Straighten Your Smile with Invisalign Braces
Rather than metal or ceramic brackets and a wire, Invisalign relies on a series of clear, plastic aligner trays to gradually move teeth into alignment. In some cases, small, tooth-colored buttons, called attachments, will assist in moving the teeth. Dr. Seth Huish will remove these tooth-colored buttons at the end of treatment.
Benefits of Invisalign
In addition to being barely noticeable, Invisalign braces offer several advantages over traditional orthodontics.
- Smooth and comfortable
- Removable aligners
- Simple to keep teeth and gums clean
- Shorter appointment times
- No visible hardware
Since you can remove Invisalign aligners, maintaining good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing after meals are essential to prevent decay caused by food that becomes trapped between the teeth and your aligners.
Will Invisalign Work for Me?
We recommend Invisalign clear braces for adults and older teens who will comply with the recommendation of wearing aligners for 22 hours per day.
Clear braces work well for most orthodontic issues.
- Overlapping teeth
- Gaps between teeth
For some complex orthodontic issues, patients may find they have better results with traditional orthodontic options. We will discuss the benefits of each with you at your orthodontic evaluation.
Getting Started with Invisalign
Dr. Huish will perform a full oral evaluation to determine if you are healthy enough for clear braces and to plan for your Invisalign treatment.
- Full x-rays
- Impressions of teeth
- Consultation and instruction
We work with a trusted Invisalign laboratory to create your aligners. Once we receive them, we will check the fit and make sure they feel comfortable to you.
You will wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before switching to the next in the series, and we will monitor your progress throughout.
Once you have completed treatment, wearing a retainer as recommended will keep your teeth from shifting out of place.
