Technology

At Salem Dental, Dr. Seth Huish incorporates some of the latest technology to improve the dentistry we provide. Making your dental procedures more comfortable, efficient, and comfortable for you, our patient, is an excellent investment that encourages patients to seek the dentistry they need and adds confidence in the care we provide.

Digital Dental X-Rays

Your safety is essential to us, which is why we opted for digital dental x-ray technology that reduces radiation emissions by up to 80 percent.

Other benefits of digital dental technology:

  • High-resolution images
  • Ability to adjust contrast and exposure
  • Early diagnosis
  • Better for the environment
  • Easy side-by-side comparison

We recommend only the x-rays necessary to accurately diagnose oral conditions, such as decay, fractures, cysts, and tumors.

3-D Cone Beam Technology

If you are planning dental implant treatment or you require an extraction, 3-D cone beam technology makes treatment easier and more predictable.

Dental implants – Planning proper placement of the dental implant post is essential for optimal results. 3-D CBCT identifies bone levels and assists Dr. Huish in dental implant surgery.

Extractions – Impacted teeth and curved roots complicate extraction procedures. Our 3-D cone beam technology helps Dr. Huish plan and perform dental extractions with complete information about the complexity of the process, which results in a better experience for you.

Invisalign – Planning orthodontic treatment is more effective with a 3-D view of the jaw and bone.

Root canal therapy – We identify the length, location, and condition of teeth roots using high-resolution, 3-D cone beam to determine if root canal treatment is the best option.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

If you have dental anxiety and want some help relaxing during treatment, nitrous oxide provides a safe and convenient sedation dentistry option. Since it leaves the system quickly, you will not need someone to drive you home from your appointment.

Nitrous oxide is delivered through a small nose mask. Dr. Huish can adjust the level of sedation throughout the appointment for your complete relaxation.

Intraoral Camera

Explaining your oral conditions is far easier when we can show you exactly what our dentist sees when he looks inside your mouth. An intraoral camera produces high-resolution images using a small handheld device. Dr. Huish can display the pictures on our treatment room monitors to show you areas of periodontal disease, broken teeth, stains, and old restorations that might need replacing.

We store these images in your digital chart for comparison from one dental appointment to the next.

Diode Laser

Diode lasers have become indispensable tools in modern dental offices, offering a versatile range of applications in both hygiene and soft tissue treatments. These compact and highly precise lasers are often used in dental cleanings to efficiently remove bacterial biofilms and disinfect periodontal pockets, promoting improved oral hygiene. Additionally, diode lasers excel in soft tissue procedures, such as gingivectomies and frenectomies, thanks to their ability to cut and coagulate simultaneously, minimizing bleeding and discomfort for patients. Their precision and minimally invasive nature make diode lasers a valuable asset in enhancing patient comfort and promoting optimal oral health in the dental practice.
